As artists we all experience similar things that inspire us, and yet we are all made differently and have various life experiences that we bring to the moment. Whether we are landscape, still-life, figurative or abstract painters, there will be certain subjects, events, colors, textures or forms that will inspire us. We paint best what we know well. Subjects such as a good friend or family member, a garden that we work daily, a walking path with its light and shadows that we use often, or a certain light and fresh smells after a summer shower can be subjects that we make art deeply.
